Energy  

Turning off the heater or the cooling system

There is a system turning off the heating and/or cooling system automatically when the windows and the door of the balcony are opened. The thermostat-controlled air-conditioning system is used air conditioning systems are used.

Energy Saver

There is s system in the rooms switching off the electrical energy after the guests leave the room.

High efficiency lamps

All lamps are in the energy class A.Coal and heavy oil products. No heavy oil or petroleum products are used as the energy source. Renewable energy source. The solar energy is used by 50% to provide the rooms with hot water.

Lighting plan

Unnecessary lighting has been avoided through the projects prepared by the experts. The outdoor areas are illuminated with the covered lamps to prevent the light from escaping to the sky.

Boiler (heat source) efficiency

The efficiency of the boiler is minimum 90%.

Window insulation

All of the windows of the rooms and the main restaurant are double-glazed.

Sauna time control

The sauna has a time control panel.

Air-conditioning systems

The air-conditioning systems are Class A energy-efficient.

Air-conditioning refrigerants

The air-conditioning gases are the most environment-friendly R410A.

Chiller positioning

The refrigerators, cold rooms, and the mini-bars are positioned away from the sun and the heat sources in line with the principle of energy conservation.

Heat and energy recovery

The technologies of frequency inverter, exchanger, and heat transformation that will provide considerable energy saving are used.

Heat regulation-adjustment

The heat of each room is thermostat-controlled and can be adjusted independently.

Recording the energy spending

The energy spending of the hotel is monitored and reported on a periodical basis.

Automatic outdoor lighting

The motion-sensitive system (photocell detectors) to turn off the lights automatically has been installed in the public toilets.

Heat insulation

The air deflector/curtain has been installed over the gates of the buildings.

Water  

Water debit flowing from the taps and showers

Special armatures ensuring that the flow rates of the waters coming from the taps and showers will be maximum 8 l/minutes and 12 l/minutes respectively are used.

Water saving in the bathrooms and restrooms

In order to save water in the bathrooms, the shallow shower trays are used instead of bathtubs. The public taps and showers are time-controlled or photocell-equipped, and turned off automatically.

Flush tanks

They are special 6 l tanks to save water, and the urinals are photocell-equipped.

Trash bin in restrooms

Trash bins have been placed in the restrooms to avoid throwing solid wastes into the toilets (for water saving), and the guests are guided to use the trash bins instead of the water closets with the warning signs in the restrooms.

Leakages

Instructions and training program have been prepared for the employees to check the water leakages, and the warning signs have been placed in the bathrooms to guide the guests to report the leakages they witness to the personnel.

Replacing the towels and sheets

The guests are informed about the environmental policy of the hotel, and advised that the towels and sheets they use will be replaced only on demand throughout the whole stay, and that in case of such a demand, they will be replaced no more than twice a week.

Garden and plant irrigation

Gardens and plants are irrigated in the mornings or nights at times, when the sun is at the apex, using the dripping and sprinkler irrigation methods.

Recording the water consumption

The electricity expenditure of the hotel is monitored and reported periodically.

Wastewater treatment

All the wastewaters are treated in MATAB (Manavgat Environmental Protection Tourism Infrastructure Facilities Association) wastewater treatment facilities..

Swimming pool dosing system

The swimming pool dosing system is automatic.

Detergents & Disinfectants

All cleaning, dishwashing (hand-wash and machine-wash) and launderette detergents and the general cleaning detergents are environmental-labeled.

Paints & varnishes-polishes

The interior paints and varnishes used in the facility are environmental-labeled.

Pest control

The pesticides used in the pest control are environmental-labeled, and harmless to humans and pets.

Recording the chemical substance consumption

The amounts of the chemicals used are monitored and reported periodically.

Waste  

Waste separation by guests

In the common area, the separation stations where the guests can separate their solid wastes are provided. There are special bins at the floors so that the guests can separate their waste batteries.

Hazardous waste 

The batteries, accumulators, toners, cartridges, mineral oils, and the medical wastes (and the other hazardous wastes) are collected separately, stored in a covered and enclosed areas, and had collected by the appropriate authorities.

Waste separation

The personnel wastes are separated according to their categories (metal, plastic, glass, paper, garden wastes, and organic wastes).

Waste oils

The waste kitchen oils are collected using the oil catchers and waste oil barrels, and given to the biofuel producers free of charge.

Disposable products

The disposable packages and disposable drink packages are used at the restaurants.

Recording the waste generation

The volume of the generated wastes (non-separated wastes in liter and/or kg) are monitored and reported.

Other services  

Smoking in common areas

No smoking in common areas.

Non-smoker rooms

20% of the rooms are non-smoker rooms.

Used textiles and furniture

The used textile products, furniture, and the other materials have either been sold or donated to charities.

Local foodstuffs

At least 2 locally produced foodstuffs are offered during the meals including the breakfast.

Paper products 

The sanitary and cleaning papers used in the facility are environmental labeled, and the correspondences and external communications are made through electronic communication to minimize the paper consumption.

Mass transport and cycling

During the check-in the guests are informed about the regional mass transport, and bicycles are provided against fee to commute to the beach.

Durable goods

The specified ones of the durable goods of any category used inside the facility (bed sheets, towels, table clothes, beds, floor coverings, bulbs, and mini-bars) are environmental-labeled.

Renovation Construction

The construction materials used during the renovation construction have been selected from among the environment-friendly ones.

Training  

Environmental communication and training

Brochures describing the works done in terms of the environmental consciousness are distributed to the guest rooms, formations are given about the water and energy saving, and the children are trained about the environment during their activities.

Equipment utilization

The personnel are trained about the economical (energy and water) and efficient use of the equipments employed.

Environmental protection training

All personnel are trained periodically on the environmental action plan, economic use of energy, water, and chemicals, and waste disposal.

Personnel training on disinfectant and detergent utilization

The personnel are trained on the use of detergent and disinfectant, and the unnecessary use is prevented.

Management  

Environmental policy and action plan

There is an environmental policy and an associated action plan.

Certification

The hotel has ISO 14001, 18000, and the Ministry of Tourism “environment-friendly facility” certificates.

Maintenance and service

All equipments are maintained and serviced in compliance with the relevant laws and regulations.

Boiler maintenance and service

The boilers are maintained and serviced once a year.
The efficiency and emission controls of the boilers are made once a year.

Environment survey

There is a survey through which the guests can deliver their views about the environmental works carried out.

Landscape 

The structures constituting the facility are in visual harmony with nature, and the habitat is protected through landscaping and forestation.

Energy and water measurement tools

Extra energy and water measurement equipments have been installed to measure the consumption of the facility sections and devices. Such activities or devices measure the kitchens and bars. The measurement information is reported.

Fire fighting

Since the facility is adjacent to a forest, the necessary measures have been taken and the personnel have been trained against a fire.

Habitat

The shelter and food are provided to protect the domestic animals around.
